The Australian Ballet: Swan Lake

Swan Lake - The Australian Ballet

The Australian Ballet presents
Swan Lake
Ballet at its most beautiful

A stage filled with white swans, a prince caught between love and deception, and a score that stays with you long after the curtain falls. Swan Lake is one of the great experiences of classical ballet, whether you know every step or are taking your seat for the first time.

The Australian Ballet's much-loved Anne Woolliams production returns to Melbourne in its 50th anniversary year. Reimagined by Artistic Director David Hallberg in 2023 for the company's 60th anniversary, it preserves Woolliams' vision while introducing updated technical elements that give its tragic beauty renewed brilliance.

Set to Tchaikovsky's celebrated score, the story follows Prince Siegfried, the enchanted Odette and her deceptive counterpart Odile. From the grace of the swan ensembles to the drama of its central love story, this is a chance to experience the artistry, emotion and spectacle that have made Swan Lake an enduring favourite.
