The Australian Ballet: Mixed Bill

Mixed Bill S27: Modern Masters

The Australian Ballet presents
Mixed Bill S27: Modern Masters
Be captivated by masters of modern ballet

Precision, personality and breathtaking movement come together in a program celebrating three masters of modern ballet.

George Balanchine is represented by two works: Kammermusik No. 2, performed by The Australian Ballet for the first time, and Duo Concertant. Together, they offer a chance to experience his distinctive approach to music and movement.

Jerome Robbins brings a playful change of mood with The Concert, a vibrantly comic ballet that pairs choreographic invention with theatrical humour. William Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude delivers a thrilling display of speed, control and technical daring.

Each work asks something different of the dancers, from comic timing to exacting precision. For audiences, Modern Masters offers the pleasure of seeing The Australian Ballet’s artists meet those challenges in a varied program of rarely performed works.
