RAAF Museum

RAAF MuseumThe RAAF Museum is housed at Point Cook, the birthplace of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force, tells one of Australia's most important aviation stories, that of the second oldest air force in the world.

The RAAF Museum is operated by about 18 full-time employees working in Curatorial, Technical, Research and Administration areas. Additionally, some 80 Volunteers provide assistance with the day-to-day running of the Museum.

The Museum's Collection is estimated to be comprised of 400,000 objects, 1 million photographs and 4 million negatives, making it the largest collection of material relating to Australia's rich military aviation history.

Gain a unique insight to Australian aviation history, the RAAF and Point Cook by taking one of our guided tours. Guided tours are conducted by Museum staff and trained volunteer host officers.

The RAAF Museum is a 25 minute drive from Melbourne along the Princes Freeway. Take the Point Cook Road exit and follow the tourist signs to the Museum. The Museum is approximately 400 metres beyond the entrance to the RAAF Base.
