After an award-winning festival season at the 2026 Adelaide Fringe, this sharp one-hour show returns for another round at the Trades Hall for the Melbourne Fringe.

The crowd roars. The ground shakes. The blinding lights flicker. Chloe Jackson enters the ring. It's London in 2012, the Olympics have arrived, and women now have the chance to compete in boxing for the first time. For Chloe, a girl from East London, the biggest fight of her life is just down the road from her local pub. Years of training with her dad have led to this moment, but when her dad dies unexpectedly, she must learn to fight on her own.

"This play speaks to how inaccessible dreams can feel now, and how, when something life-changing is almost within reach, you have to fight with everything you have to make it real," said director & producer Hannah Smith, who co-founded Dead Darling Theatre with best friend Amelia Rooney.

Bitch Boxer won the inaugural Theatre Network Australia "Artform Shaker" Award at the 2026 Adelaide Fringe. An award that recognises work that champions innovation in equality, justice, inclusion, and care, making the performing arts a better place to be.

"Director Hannah Smith is quickly becoming a director in Adelaide that will be known for her directing choices and styles, and this is another amazing example of the team she is able to lead to achieve greatness," said Andrew Broadbent, reviewer for A Thousand Words.

Bitch Boxer is presented by Dead Darling Theatre. Based in Adelaide, this female queer-led company is determined to create accessible, diverse performances that celebrate underrepresented voices in theatre.
