Junior parkrun | Templestowe + Aintree
parkrun is a free community event held every Sunday morning at local parks around Australia and involves a 5km walk or run.
Parkrun is non-competitive, with the goal to improve on your own previous weekend's time.
Tim Oberg brought parkrun to Australia, now there are 335 locations around Australia and more than 40,000+ participants weekly.
Every week Junior parkrun gives children aged 4 - 14 years the freedom to run a kid-friendly 2km course with their peers, free of charge, managed solely by volunteers (marshals are stationed every 100m of the course).
Time to get the indoor generation outside!
"Junior parkrun offers families the opportunity for kids to engage in organised physical activity, free of charge. Parents know the kids will be outdoors, exercising and safe. And they know they can commit to it because it doesn't carry a cost." said parkrun CEO Tim Oberg.
Westerfolds junior parkrun

What does it cost to join in?
Nothing - it's free! but please register before you first come along. Only ever register with parkrun once and don't forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.
Aintree Reserve junior parkrun
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors (4 to 14 year olds) held every Sunday at Aintree Reserve, 25 Aintree Blvd, Aintree, VIC 3335
