In Sunshine, the local vibe lights up the screens with their Sunshine Short Film Festival featuring cinematic snippets made by the community and aspiring filmmakers.

And for foodies, the Queen Vic says adios to Market Week with its Spanish Festival dishing up performances, fun and paella by the plateful.

Buzz Movie Makers Buzz Movie Makers will hold school holiday activities in Elwood, Northcote, Brunswick East, Hawthorn East and Kensington where kids can have fun making and exploring movies with movie and animation classes that teach all aspects of making films, allowing them to create their own masterpiece to then take home on DVD.

Free Youth Festival

Macleod Youth Festival Macleod Youth Festival, presented by Banyule Council and Studio F, is a fully supervised drug, alcohol and smoke-free event that features live music, rides, stalls, a photo booth, food, prizes and more - all for free! Held at Macleod Park, the festival will buzz with 4 stages of live music showcasing a line-up of 29 bands and DJs.

The Many Shades of Spring

Tesselaar Tulip Festival Tesselaar Tulip Festival is a vibrant festival celebrating Spring with fields that feature more than half a million beautiful flowers in bloom. Held in Silvan, which is located just an hour away from Melbourne, themed weekends throughout the festival include performances, activities for children and much more.

Plenty of Paella at Queen Vic

Spanish Festival Spanish Festival, held at Queen Victoria Market as part of the final day of this year's Market Week, offers a great day out with entertainment for young and old that includes paella stands, live Spanish entertainment and dancing and the grand final of the Trader Cook Off, which will be judged by Miguel Maestre.

Sunny Shorts on Show

Sunshine Short Film Festival Sunshine Short Film Festival celebrates the people, history and spirit of Sunshine as a culturally dynamic town with a program of short films created by local aspiring filmmakers, young and old. Held at Sunshine's Village Cinemas, the theme given to entrants this year was "Sunshine Rising"with a total prize pool of $10,000.

Melbourne Underground Film Festival Melbourne Underground Film Festival, a festival that prides itself on being far from the norm, returns for its 14th year with a program of screenings held at Revolt ArtSpace in Kensington. Celebrating uncompromising genre films, the program includes guest speakers, awards and a diverse selection of short films.

When Books Meet Art

Artist Book Exhibition Artist Book Exhibition, held at Artisan Books in Fitzroy and now in its 8th year, is a presentation of artist made books with an inspired and diverse range of works by talented book artists. The exhibition seeks to explore the boundaries of how a book is defined, focusing on the books as a sculptural form.

On The Fritz

All Day Fritz All Day Fritz, a family friendly band that doesn't patronise kids, bore adults or damage your ear drums, will be launching their CD at Northcote's Wesley Anne. Comprised of well-known Melbourne musicians, comedians and performers that include John Fleming of Scared Weird Little Guys, entry is free for kids at the launch.

There are also stalls with memorabilia from the past till now covering blues, rock, grunge and other genres.
