This week the toe-tapping tunes spill beyond the city as Melbourne International Jazz Festival is joined by Winter Jazz Festival in Mornington.

Coburg Carnivale celebrates the community spirit with a week of entertainment, and across the long weekend there's a great range of events including the Australian Burlesque Festival, National Celtic Festival in Portarlington and Woodend Winter Arts Festival.

Arafat in Therapy Arafat in Therapy, a performance by Jeremie Bracka, is the hilarious one-man political comedy that parodies the Middle-East peace process through farce, mockumentary and autobiographical monologue using Jeremie's experiences as a human rights lawyer in Israel and at the U.N. It's held at Prahran's Chapel Off Chapel.

The Festival of Other Lives The Festival of Other Lives, presented by Melbourne City Library and held throughout the library's gallery, niches and displayed as projections, is an exhibition that showcases the hidden arts and talents of staff with music, readings and artwork to proudly celebrate what library staff produce in their other lives.

Hashtag, No Filter Hashtag, No Filter is an exhibition by Dominic Sowersby, whose works play on the use of repetitive patterns to challenge the viewer's perceptions and evoke contrasting reactions. Held at Off the Kerb in Collingwood, it coincides with the exhibitions LOL by Samantha Riegl and Adam Stone and Bernadette O'Sullivan's Deluge.

I to Eye I to Eye, showing at MARS Gallery in Port Melbourne, is an exhibition of David Burrows' new body of work. Extending his ongoing interest in binocular visual depth perception, the project features a series of head-studies that Burrows has captured in medium format stereoscopes which are inset into custom-built boxes.

Models Exposed

Model Expo Model Expo, Australia's premier model exhibition, presents a showcase of everything that encompasses scale plastic modelling. With model displays that include aircraft, trains and even science fiction, the event includes stalls by model kit retailers and an enormous Swap and Sell Day. It's held at Sandown Racecourse.
