Vietnamese Museum Australia |

Stories. History. Inspiration.
Australia's first Vietnamese cultural centre and museum in Sunshine has been given to go-ahead.
Based on our current project plan, and subject to Brimbank Council's decision on Execution of Land Sale Agreement, the museum construction is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2024.
Supported by a $2.3 million investment from the Victorian state government, the museum will offer Vietnamese Victorians a dedicated space to celebrate their heritage and preserve stories of migration and refugee settlement.
The three-storey facility will feature exhibitions showcasing migrant journeys to freedom and the Vietnamese community's contributions to Australia's multicultural identity, with more than 280 artefacts set to be displayed.
Additionally, the museum will house a community hub and resource centre for education, as well as a function space and cafe, accommodating up to 450 guests for community events at local, interstate, and international levels.
Owned by Brimbank City Council, the site is part of the expanding Sunshine Metropolitan Activity Centre and is conveniently located just a three-minute walk from Sunshine Railway Station.
