Newsletter #252 | What's On Melbourne |

Welcome to this week's Melbourne events, exhibitions, sports and community guide for Tuesday to Monday, November 1 to 7.
This week... Spring's in full swing as many festivals take advantage of the warmer weather to dust off the floats with street parades held at Djerriwarrh Festival in Melton and the Benalla Festival in Benalla, as you may have guessed.
That artsy suburb of North Fitzroy welcomes back The Village Festival with a great range of attractions and theatre, while the Buddhist Spring Festival returns with the Tibetan Buddhist Society offering a weekend of activities and garden tours for those not prone to seasonal sneezes.
On the foodie front, there's a chance to celebrate World Vegan Day at Abbotsford Convent, while on the other side of that culinary coin - far from the greens and beans - there's the All Things Goat Festival, celebrating goats and the eating and milking thereof. Should you turn up to the latter and find people in black robes, I'd wager you've taken a wrong turn and stumbled into a whole different affair altogether.

Trivia & Humour
These Rolls Were Made For Walkin'...
One of Victoria's most iconic creations, the Chiko Roll, was developed in the 1940s by Francis McEnroe from Bendigo.
In line with that other of Victoria's much-loved icons, AFL Football, the Chiko Roll was based on the Chinese egg roll and spring roll, but given a much more robust and thicker deep-fried wrapping so that it would survive transport to Football matches.
The fact that it can be held in one hand while the other hand's occupied by a beer was also a winning sales point.
