Monash University invites you to spend an evening with renowned guest speakers, Monash experts and thought-leaders as they showcase their expertise and navigate some of the most pressing global and social issues of our time.

This free event will feature host Maria Thattil and guest speakers Chris Judd, Clementine Ford, Sharnelle Vella, Sarah Wilson and reps from Bumble and the Betoota advocate and we'll explore issues that are humanity's greatest challenges, topics that are changing the future, and will showcase how attendees can actively contribute to the solutions.

We tend to think of "psychedelics" as illegal, mind-altering substances, but they might just be the key to unlocking a revolution in mental health treatment.

4:00pm - Lettuce Change: How climate change is impacting everyday life
We're all aware of the "big picture" consequences of climate change - floods, fires, and all things in between. But now our daily lives are being affected. What's with the price of a lettuce? Where did all the eggs go? What's next?

4:45pm - Meet the Metaverse
Everyone's talking about the metaverse, but will it benefit us in the long run, or - as with so many human-technology interactions - give rise to an increasingly darkside ripe for exploitation?

5:30pm - What Roe v Wade means for the world. Your human rights are at stake
The overturning of Roe v Wade signified a backwards step for the protection of human rights and sets a dangerous global precedent. How can we protect other freedoms we now take for granted?
