Award-winning West End revival of Fiddler on the Roof comes to Melbourne

Following a triumphant London season that became the best-selling musical revival in the venue's history, the award-winning production of **Fiddler on the Roof** comes to Melbourne's Her Majesty's Theatre from **31 October 2026**.

Winner of three **Olivier Awards**, including **Best Musical Revival**, this acclaimed production is directed by **Jordan Fein** (*Into The Woods*), with choreography by **Julia Cheng** (*Cabaret*) and design by Olivier and Tony Award winner **Tom Scutt**.

Set in **1905** in the small Jewish village of **Anatevka**, the story follows Tevye, a hardworking milkman whose life is guided by tradition. As his five daughters begin choosing their own paths in a rapidly changing world, Tevye is forced to confront the tension between honouring long-held customs and embracing the future. Against a backdrop of social upheaval and uncertainty, the musical explores family, faith, love and resilience with warmth, humour and compassion.

Since its Broadway premiere in **1964**, **Fiddler on the Roof** has become one of the most celebrated musicals ever written. Created by **Jerry Bock**, **Sheldon Harnick** and **Joseph Stein**, it has been performed around the world for more than six decades, with its themes of tradition, identity and belonging continuing to resonate across generations.

The production features some of musical theatre's most enduring songs, including **If I Were a Rich Man**, **Tradition**, **Matchmaker** and **Sunrise, Sunset**, making it a favourite with audiences worldwide.

Melbourne audiences can experience this acclaimed West End production at **Her Majesty's Theatre** from **31 October 2026**.
