In late May 2026, the Australian ticketing platform Ferve Tickets suffered a data breach, exposing the personal information of over 26,000 customers* from the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).
Exposed Data: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, and residential addresses may have been accessed.
Safe Data: No complete credit card numbers or MIFF account passwords were breached.
Affected Venues: The breach primarily affected MIFF attendees, though other Australian arts institutions using Ferve may also have been impacted.
Response: Ferve and MIFF notified the Australian Cyber Security Centre and advised affected customers to be highly vigilant against phishing emails and SMS messages.
