MB Star Properties Pty Ltd, the company behind the 120-metre Docklands icon that ground to a halt and went into liquidation in 2021, is getting a new lease on life thanks to an $11 million takeover.

The dream team bringing the Star back includes Melbourne-based Skyline Attractions, US carnival legends Ray Cammack Shows (known for the giant wheels at Coachella and the LA County Fair), and RoBu Group, which first bought the wheel in 2021. Skyline's power duo, Jay and Jane Jones, will take the helm, steering day-to-day operations.

The revival promises more than just the view. Expect pre-footy party packages, sky-high drinks, family-friendly carriages, and even a historic Melbourne tour - all part of the plan to attract a whopping 250,000 visitors in its first year back.
