Yarra Bend Park

Yarra Bend Park is the largest area of natural bushland near the heart of Melbourne. The park features steep river escarpments, open woodlands, playing fields and golf courses.

Nestled in the unlikely location between Kew and Abbotsford, a mere stone's throw from the CBD, is a secluded bushland haven best known as Yarra Bend Park.

The landscape varies from steep, wild river escarpments to open woodlands, formal parkland, playing fields and golf courses. It has over 16 km of river frontage, and superb views of the city and the Dandenongs from the higher areas.

Cycling, Walking & Running

Hundreds of cyclists, walkers, joggers and runners use the Yarra Boulevard every weekend, known for its up, down and winding terrain, fabulous views and idealic park surrounds. Some cars and motorcycles also use it as a racing track, but they are few and far between. Another habit is cyclist not using the 'marked' cycling lanes and paths preferring to play chicken with road traffic, but most get the message from car horns.

Yarra Boulevard winds its way through Yarra Band Park from the Chandler Highway (Kew) south over the Eastern Freeway, under Studley Park Road to Walmer Street in Kew.
