Vicnet | vicnet.net.auVicnet hosting service is now closed (2014).

It continues to host web sites for some libraries and historical societies.

VICNET is a joint project of RMIT Libraries and the State Library of Victoria. The project was established by a grant from the Community Support Fund, which is administered by the Victorian State Government Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism.

closure

Over the last 12 months, the State Library of Victoria has undertaken a review of our web hosting and email services.

As a result, the decision has been made to close our community and fee-for-service web hosting, Domain Name & DNS management and email services (& mailboxes) effective from Friday, January 31, 2014.

We will begin decommissioning our hosting servers commencing Monday, January 6, 2014, and all hosting and email services will cease on Friday, January 31, 2014. Any services (websites, email addresses, DNS settings) that you have with us will stop working on this date.

This means that you will need to select a new provider for your hosting and email services. If you wish to have a website or email address, you will need to;

--> Select and arrange services with a new provider, and
--> Migrate your existing website to that provider
--> View Hosting Alternatives.

Services to Historical Societies and Victorian Libraries will continue.
