The George Ballroom

THE GEORGE BALLROOM is a historical event space located on the first floor of The George Hotel in Fitzroy Street St. Kilda.

The George Hotel was built in 1857 with the addition of the grand ballroom in 1886 originally functioning as a tea room and popular wedding venue.

The Ballroom has re-opened in 2015 after a nine year hiatus and extensive restoration of the iconic hand painted ceilings and walls.

The timeless ballroom is from the classic Victorian era with Corinthian wall pilasters, stain glass windows and brass & etched glass gasoliers.

The George Ballroom can accommodate 150 guests for a sit down dinner and up to 200 guests for a cocktail party. The ballroom is 200 sqm and has an additional side parlour complete with stylish contemporary furniture. It's the perfect event space for wedding celebrations, gala dinners, corporate events and private parties. The George Ballroom is operated exclusively by leading event and catering company Damm Fine Food, who offer a wide range of innovative menus, drink packages and styling solutions to suit any event. The George Ballroom also caters for kosher functions.
