Shane Adamczak: The Year There Were No Monsters
Ordinary People. Extraordinary Lives. And also, there's Monsters.
The Year There Were No Monsters
Melbourne Fringe Festival 2026
Tonight, a group of bizarre and eccentric "Everyday people" gather at an Open Mic to tell their stories about living in a world where giant mutant monsters roam the Earth. Through story, song, clown, mime and "high art" these characters explore what it truly means to be a "hero" in today's world.
Inspired by 1960's Japanese pop-culture icons like Ultraman and Godzilla; THE YEAR THERE WERE NO MONSTERS marks the second major collaboration between fringe-fav Shane Adamczak and director Sam Longley.
From the creators of the Martin Sims and Just For Laughs Award-Winning Vehicle and Fringe Hit The Ballad Of Frank Allen and, comes a brand new one-man comedy that explores the triumph of the human spirit against all odds.
