With an expanded and enhanced animal precinct, only at the Royal Melbourne Show can visitors get up close to thousands of animals, including cows, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, cats and dogs. Food-lovers will enjoy tantalising tastes and mouth-watering aromas at the Royal Melbourne Show with the event featuring award-winning food and drink from top producers, rotating pop-up restaurants and intimate masterclasses and cooking demonstrations from Australia's finest chefs and industry experts. Boasting hours of free world-class entertainment and performances, the thrill and excitement of carnival rides, spectacular stunts, glittering nightly fireworks and much more, there's an amazing variety of things to do at this year's Royal Melbourne Show.
10 ALL NEW ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW EXPERIENCESThis year the Royal Melbourne Show will be unlike any Show you've ever seen before with the introduction of an all new program of activities and pavilions to explore. Held from Saturday 21 September to Tuesday 1 October at Melbourne Showgrounds, these are the new experiences and attractions you will want to include in your show schedule. 1. Jurassic Creatures Dinosaurs including everyone's favourite, the Tyrannosaurus Rex, will come alive at the Show. Jurassic Creatures is an interactive walkthrough with animatronic dinosaurs. Watch them move. Hear them roar! Grab a pick and chip away at fossils and take part in dinosaur-themed activities. 2. PAW Patrol Join Ryder, Chase and Marshall as they answer Mayor Goodway's call for help to save the "Adventure Bay Talent Show". Get ready for action and warm up as Ryder and the Pups take you through all the moves for the Pup Pup Boogie and make this the best rescue mission ever. See the cast come alive on stage in an all singing, all dancing performance ready to get you out of your seats and on the dance floor. 3. Elton John Experience Don't let the sun go down on you without seeing the Elton John Experience. With three performances a day on the Channel 7 Entertainment Precinct, his virtuosic piano playing and vocal timbre will have you believing it could really be the Rocket Man himself. 4. Team Isuzu D-Max Precision Driving Demonstration Australia's longest running and most famous precision driving team, Team Isuzu D-Max will set the Herald Sun Arena in motion with two live precision driving demonstrations each day. Expect the drivers to display their skills in hot laps, high-speed precision and much more. 5. Cosentino the Grand Illusionist Twice a day you can watch magician and escapologist Cosentino, the Grand Illusionist, who will push the boundaries of what's possible with death-defying stunts from his all new stage show, Anything is Possible. 6. Angus Steakhouse To celebrate the Angus as the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show beef cattle feature breed, there's a new spot for a restaurant-quality sit-down meal. The Angus Steakhouse will be serving up hearty steakhouse fare, including specialty steaks, golden fries and wine in a relaxed, cosy setting. 7. World's Largest Showbag Pavilion Celebrating over 100 years at the Show, showbags will this year live in the Grand Pavilion, making it the World's Largest Showbag Pavilion! And with over 350 of these goodie bags on offer, you'll certainly be walking out carrying something colourful, crafty, delicious, weird or wacky. 8. Get up close to the very cute Alpacas Alpaca your bags and get ready to see 200 alpacas strut their stuff as the Alpaca Competition is hosted at the Show. You can also get up close to these cuddly, long-necked animals during the Alpaca Youth Parader's Competition where competitors lead an alpaca through a small obstacle course. If you want even more, visit the Biostime Animal Nursery and First National Real Estate Farmyard and spend some time with these and many more of the friendly farm animals that call the Show their home for 11 days. 9. Live sculptor in the newly renovated Spotlight Makers Pavilion Colombian born, Alexander Esenarro Santafe is a renowned sculptor, specialising in expressing the complexity of human anatomy and where better to sculpt than at the Royal Melbourne Show? Santafe is the 2019 Artist in Residence, where throughout 11 days of the Show, he will be bringing his work to life in the Spotlight Makers Pavilion. Located on the Grand Boulevard near the Gate 1 entrance, this newly renovated pavilion will showcase the 4000 Art, Craft and Cookery Competition entries in a dramatic must-see exhibition. 10. Scream your lungs out on the Fury Test your mettle on the ultimate thrill-seeker ride, the Fury. This terror of a ride is making its first appearance at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show. Standing over 40 meters tall, hurtling riders through the air at 125km/h, it definitely isn't for the faint hearted!
