Midsumma Pride March 2018

Midsumma Pride March 2018

On Sunday 28 January 2018, Midsumma Pride March will celebrate its 23rd Anniversary, so be sure you are there to show your colours!

Melbourne's iconic annual Midsumma Pride March recognises and celebrates Victoria's gay, lesbian, bisexual, intersex and transgender community, while remembering the road we have already travelled on this journey to equity.

Whilst we call it a march, we enthusiastically encourage dancing, singing, strutting, catwalking and voguing. The more choreographed and fabulous your group is, the more impact we can make, and the more spectacular the event gets.

Be loud. Be bold. Dress up or dress down.

Celebrate You!

Gather your friends and allies together as we take to St Kilda's Fitzroy Street, to rejoice in our diversity and achievements, at Victoria's annual queer march.

Mobilise against marginalisation with Midsumma Festival, in this march of celebration and solidarity, as we unfurl our flags, frock up and keep fighting.

In 1996, more than 11,000 people swelled onto the streets to rally in part against the infamous Tasty Nightclub raids. Twenty three years later we're still marching, stronger and prouder than ever.

Midsumma Pride March Awards, intended to encourage a bright presence from participants, and Post Pride celebrations at Catani Gardens will round off the day.

Want to march? Register at Pride March Participation by Monday 4 December.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are invited to march in the Indigenous Pride Float alongside Elders. Meet at 1pm at Ian Johnson Oval, St Kilda (find the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags at Wave A) and be sure to RSVP on Facebook.
