Overnewton Castle (built in 1849) is a Scottish Baronial style castle set amidst four acres of private tranquil English gardens makes the perfect backdrop for your special wedding day.

You may wish to have pre-dinner drinks in the garden, or you may choose to be served in our elaborate sitting rooms. The Grand Dining Room features an elegant chandelier and bay windows overlooking picturesque gardens. The non-denominational Chapel has exquisite hand painted features and a glass ceiling. Wedding ceremonies and photos can be held in the private gardens, an original 1882 wrought iron gazebo or The Chapel.

We are also happy to announce our Bridal Suite - "Overnewton Cottage". A stunning double story retreat perfect for your romantic honeymoon night. The Cottage has been meticulously furnished in a contemporary style with luxury in mind. Featuring a large oval spa with views of the valley. King bed, large plasma TV/DVD. The upstairs area has been especially designed for bride to be and her brides maids to use as a dressing room area ideal for hair, make-up and pre-wedding photos. Including: 2 double sofa beds, en-suite bathroom and large dressing room area.

Our gift to you: A chilled bottle of champagne and chocolates await you on your wedding night and a delightful continental breakfast basket is supplied for you in the privacy of your own retreat.

Overnewton castle was built by William Taylor in 1849. The Scotsman bought 13,000 acres of rich grazing land just west of the Keilor township. Taylor built a simple single story bluestone colonial style homestead. This consisted of 6 rooms with large shuttered windows and wide verandahs. The homestead was positioned on a gentle slope overlooking Keilor and afforded extensive views of the surrounding countryside.
