Outre Gallery challenges the conventions of the archetypal gallery. Established for over two decades in Melbourne Australia Outre features solo and group exhibitions by international and Australian artists with a focus on New Contemporary art. We showcase original artworks and limited edition prints alongside a curated collection of art books.
We have grown into an iconic and established gallery known for our distinctive range of figurative artwork and curatorial aesthetic. We have had the pleasure of exhibiting with James Jean Audrey Kawasaki Mark Ryden Shag Femke Hiemstra Ashley Wood Stella Im Hultberg Travis Louie Jeremy Geddes and Andy Kehoe - amongst many other talented artists.
In 2018 we celebrated our 21st anniversary with Beyond The Familiar an exhibition featuring original artworks from over fifty international and Australian artists. It was a milestone occasion for us - marking the years we have joyfully curated and shared artwork.
Outre has two locations. Our original Melbourne gallery is in the bustling heart of the city receiving hundreds of visitors daily. Our newest gallery is located in the inner city suburb of Fitzroy providing a dedicated exhibition space and a rotating salon hang of print editions.
Outre has always been a proponent of making art approachable and accessible in a variety of forms allowing it to be appreciated by individuals of all backgrounds and interests. We are so grateful that the rapport we foster with our customers and artists has allowed us to thrive all these years. Our aim is to continue showing established international and local artists and emerging talent to Australian shores and to share the fervour we have for New Contemporary art with an ever growing audience.
