Neptune Food & Wine

Amongst the hustle and bustle of Windsor's renowned food precinct lies Neptune Food and Wine.

Being a local favourite, this unique culinary hub will have you reimagining the notion of a wine bar.

Linger over a Mediterranean-inspired menu, created by our chef, Daniel Natoli. From seafood to homemade pasta to tiramisu, it takes you straight to the Mediterranean. Pair your meal with one of the 300 bottles of wine, hand selected by our resident sommelier.

Finish off your dinner with one of our many imported Amaros. Neptune is in the heart of Chapel Street, located on the number 6 tramline or a short walk from the Prahran and Windsor train stations.

Head down for after-work drinks and our daily aperitivo, then head upstairs to Impala, our 70's disco-inspired cocktail and whisky bar.

Shake things up with Yoann Tarditi, our cocktail extraordinaire; this is where the fun really begins. If whisky is more your style, buy a bottle and we'll store it for you for next time in our whisky locker!

Neptune Food & Wine

Neptune is by Nic Coulter and Simon Blacher (Hanoi Hannah, Saigon Sally and Tokyo Tina) and brothers Dave and Michael Parker (Pastuso and San Telmo).

Food options honour different Mediterranean cuisines. There are roasted sardines, saganaki, fritto misto (fried seafood), salami-filled jaffles and rotating pastas.

The other highlight is the premium canned seafood. The 'Tinned' section of Neptune's menu features seafood from Spanish canneries. Arroyabe tuna belly comes with pickled onion, capers and parsley; Ramon Pena mussels are served with paprika, pickled green tomato and shaved parmesan (sardines and octopus also come from Ramon Pena); cockles (Cabo De Pena) are dressed with Calabrian chilli oil and lemon; and anchovies (Cuca) come with tomato and red pepper.

Canned seafood goes well with albariƱo, a white wine from northwest Spain, as well as any other dry white or vermouth. You'll find a number of these on the 300-bottle wine list.

The two-storey, 140-seat interior is low-lit and moody, with warm lighting, dark timber furniture and black ceilings that contrast with exposed-brick walls.

There's footpath seating, and various areas to settle into for the night; bar stools, tables and chairs, banquettes, a lounge by a fireplace. The team will even keep your un-finished alcohol in a whisky locker upstairs: buy a bottle and Neptune will keep it safe until your next visit.
