National Steam Centre - Open Hours

The museum is open every weekend - Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 4pm.
Admission is by donation.
There are over 400 engines and associated exhibits in the Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club exhibition sheds plus a fabulous miniature railway.
It is hard to imagine a more wide ranging collection of vintage machinery than what is on display at the steam centre. The depth and engineering heritage significance of the exhibits has been recognised by Engineers Australia who have erected an Engineering Heritage Marker at the museum.
The engines on display at the steam centre represent many years of collection and restoration efforts by club members. In addition to the engines owned by the club, a number of members privately owned engines are kept at the centre.

The museum is open for viewing each Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 4pm (except the Christmas - New Year period.).
The grounds have been developed into a very pleasant park with picnic tables, a gas fired BBQ and shade trees.
There is no charge for admission to the grounds except during for some special events.
Most areas of he site are wheel chair accessible and disabled toilet facilities are available.
Thursdays are volunteers' work days and visitors are welcome to call in.
