National Celtic Festival 2021
JUNE 5-8 2020 / CANCELLED
JUNE 11-14 2021
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE NATIONAL CELTIC FOLK FESTIVAL COMMITTEE AND TEAM:
In light of updates from the Australia Government and global actions regarding containing the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), it is with deep regret and heavy hearts that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel this year's Festival and hold off our 18th celebrations until next year. Our hope is that our 2021 festival will include many from this year's fabulous line-up and participants and bring you the exciting plans we had for this year. The great amount work and planning put into this year's festival will continue and we will make 2021 a great celebration.
We have not taken this decision lightly, but after consulting partners, stakeholders, health professionals and our festival community - the health and wellbeing of our communities and festival visitors must be our priority.
The situation is changing daily and we feel it is easier to take a decision now rather than being forced to do so very close to our event. We are very aware of the impact of this health crisis on the entertainment/event/arts industry worldwide and we will be proactive in doing all that we can to support these industries as soon as possible.
We will be communicating with all ticket holders to organise refunds or transfers to use at next year's festival. This may take 5-10 business days to process and we kindly request your patience whilst we work through everything and everyone. These are uncharted waters and we will be doing our best to make these processes as smooth as possible.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the cancellation of the 2020 National Celtic Festival. Thank you for understanding at this incredibly challenging time.
We wish you and your community good health and look forward to welcoming you back in 2021, and possibly bringing you some ‘warm up' events as soon as we can.
Please Stay Safe - we will be back intouch soon

National Celtic Festival
This winter festival is regarded as Australia's premier Celtic Festival and attracts over 15,000 people to the region over the three day long weekend event each June.
The Festival uses a range of venues within the town, including community halls and spaces, the hotel, restaurants, cafes and churches. Marquees are also set up on the foreshore to provide additional venues; these include the Village Stage, Celtic Club, Wine Bar, and Celtic Markets.
The National Celtic Festival program offers a broad and diverse range of arts experiences that capture the Celtic culture in its many interpretations within the Australian setting.
The setting of the Portarlington foreshore and surrounding township is an ideal location for the festival and showcases the region.
As festival organizers we recognise the significance of the land on which the festival is held to the indigenous people of the area and in collaboration with local elders have developed ways to acknowledge this in a meaningful ways.
The festival caters for all age groups and for a diversity of cultural and family groups. The festival has become an annual event for families and friends to gather, offering time to relax and experience the depth of Celtic culture through the festival's cultural diverse arts program.
An easy 90-minute drive from Melbourne, the township of Portarlington is ready to welcome you with open arms. Nestled between the Bellarine Peninsula's renowned vineyards and the famous mussel farms of Corio Bay, this normally quiet bay side village comes to life with the music, laughter and passion of the Celtic spirit
