Buried below street level, Max Watt's Ballroom is located in the heart of the city, opposite Melbourne Town Hall.

Seen from the street as no more than a 'stairway' this venue is larger than you'd expect and plays host to a great range of international and local acts.

During World War II, the venue was originally the first Newsreel cinema in Melbourne.

Six decades later, it's known as one of the best venues in Melbourne for live music and entertainment.

The Hi-Fi venues in Melbourne and Sydney have new management but will continue to operate as live venues under the rebranded name Max Watt's.
