If you are a cyclist, walker, runner or maybe a concerned member of the public then help protect others and share swooping magpie attacks. MagpieAlert aims to record magpie swoops on a map to help others avoid dangerous birds. The website also gathers information on the attack: the position (lat/long), a description, date/time, what activity was taking place and whether an injury resulted. Magpies are protected throughout Australia. It is against the law to kill the birds, collect their eggs, or harm their young. If you feel a magpie is a serious menace, it should be reported to your local council. Record your attack or receive warnings of attacks in your area.
