The Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre is a modern, welcoming space where all members of the community can read, connect, learn and create.

The centre is home to a library, learning and training rooms with a computer lab, recording studio, meeting rooms, community activity spaces and a cafe.

Kathleen Syme in Carlton is the area's first creative, learning and community space.

Housed in a restored 139-year-old building, the centre features a library and community activity spaces in addition to learning and training rooms, a computer lab, recording studio and meeting rooms.

The stunning Victorian-era façade of the former state school has been carefully restored, while inside there is a welcoming and accessible centre for all members of the community to read, connect, learn and create.

The centre caters for a variety of needs and spaces, including:

* A new library featuring over 40,000 items in a wide range of formats and languages

* Bookable multi-purpose meeting spaces and facilities including a recording studio, conference rooms and training and technology rooms

* Social enterprise cafe, Wild Timor Coffee
