Gateway Festival 2026 Brings Electronic Music to Heide Sculpture Park

Gateway Festival returns to Heide

Gateway Festival will return to Bulleen on Saturday 19 December, transforming the grounds of Heide Sculpture Park into a three-stage electronic music festival from 3pm to 11pm.

Now in its third edition, Gateway combines electronic music with the distinctive outdoor setting of Heide, home to the Heide Museum of Modern Art. Organisers say the 2026 event will place greater emphasis on sound and stage design as the festival continues to develop its use of the sculpture park.

The festival is supported through the Victorian Government's Community Support Fund and Creative Victoria, delivered by Music Victoria. Gateway was among the Victorian festivals to receive funding through the Live Music Festivals Fund in 2025.

International and Australian electronic artists

The 2026 program is headed by Andre Zimmer, Boss Priester and Detroit house producer Rick Wade, with Australian DJ and producer Roza Terenzi also among the major names on the bill.

Wade has been releasing deep house since the early 1990s and runs Detroit label Harmonie Park Records. His extensive catalogue draws on house, soul, jazz, funk and the rhythmic foundations of Detroit techno.

Dutch producer and DJ Boss Priester works across minimal, house and techno, with releases spanning labels including Ba Dum Tish, X-Kalay, Dungeon Meat and Locus, alongside music issued through his own BPDUBS imprint.

Roza Terenzi emerged from the Australian electronic underground before developing an international touring career. Her catalogue includes releases for labels such as Dekmantel, Butter Sessions and Voyage, while her debut album, Modern Bliss, arrived in 2020.

Gateway will also feature back-to-back sets, including Youandewan and Moopie, as well as Australian artists performing DJ and live sets across the three stages.

Food and the Heide setting

Music remains the focus, but Gateway is also expanding its food program. Satu Jiwa will serve Indonesian-inspired dishes, Tommy Two Buns will handle burgers, and First Nations food business Pawa joins the 2026 offering.

The festival takes place within Heide Sculpture Park on Wurundjeri Country in Bulleen, giving Gateway an unusual setting away from Melbourne's conventional clubs and festival grounds. The sculpture park forms part of Heide Museum of Modern Art and provides the landscape for the event's outdoor stages and production.

Gateway Festival 2026 runs from 3pm until 11pm on Saturday 19 December. General release tickets go on sale Thursday 1 October.
