Frankston Street Art Festival 2026

From 16-22 March 2026, Frankston's city centre will ignite with colour as nine large-scale murals and projection artworks transform the CBD into a week-long open-air gallery. Expect bold walls, fresh energy and the full force of Frankston's award-winning street art culture.
Frankston Street Art Festival returns in March 2026, transforming the Frankston CBD into a live, open-air gallery across one concentrated week of mural painting, public art, workshops and guided tours.
Delivered by Frankston City Council the festival continues to build one of Australia's most significant collections of contemporary street art, while prioritising public access, artist process and community participation.
The 2026 artist line-up brings together established and emerging practitioners working across large-scale muralism, illustration, typography and projections.
Works will be delivered across multiple sites, with artists painting live throughout the week, allowing you to witness the process as well as finished outcomes.
Beyond murals, FSAF offers a structured program of workshops and tours designed to deepen engagement. Hands-on workshops for young people ages 12 and up provide practical skill development and insight into contemporary street art practices, while guided walking tours contextualise the artworks within Frankston's urban landscape, cultural history and broader street art movement.
This year we also introduce the Street Art Studio, a new indoor activation where you can see what a street art studio is really like, with live painting and other fun things.
Frankston Street Art Festival is free, accessible and deliberately embedded in the everyday life of the city. Cafes, laneways and public thoroughfares become viewing platforms, reinforcing street art as a public, shared cultural asset rather than a closed-door experience.

Street Art Studio
As part of the Frankston Street Art Festival and South Side Festival, an empty retail space at Bayside Shopping Centre will be transformed into a pop-up street art gallery located upstairs in the former Toys R Us space off Shannon Street Mall. The pop-up gallery will have artists creating murals, graffiti writing, paste up and cut outs which will be open from Thursday 19 March - Sunday 22 March 10am - 4pm throughout festival week, giving the public a rare chance to see mixed media art being created in real time.
Artists will paint on temporary walls, with selected removable sections available for public bidding through a silent auction, offering the opportunity to own an original piece of street art created during the festival. Details of the auction site will be uploaded here but you can also scan the QR codes within the gallery once you are in the space and viewing the artwork. The gallery will then continue to open every Saturday until the South Side Festival closing party on Saturday May 16th, when bidding closes and artworks can be collected.
Come to the Street Art Studio Launch Party on Saturday 21st March from 6pm - 10pm, for music, drinks, and to view the nearly completed works.
The gallery will then continue to open every Saturday from 10am - 4pm until the South Side Festival closing party on Saturday May 16th, when bidding closes and artworks can be collected by the lucky bidders!
