City Circle Tram | Polly Woodside & Old Melbourne Gaol
THE NATIONAL TRUST OF AUSTRALIA (VIC) CELEBRATES THE LAUNCH OF THE POLLY WOODSIDE & OLD MELBOURNE GAOL CITY CIRCLE TRAM.
In support of our Heritage Listed W Class Trams & our top Melbourne visitor attractions, the National Trust of Australia (Vic) is launching its Polly Woodside & Old Melbourne Gaol free City Circle tram, scheduled to run for at least three months (February - May 2011).
The tram features two of the National Trusts' Melbourne based attractions, Polly Woodside & the award winning Old Melbourne Gaol.
Polly Woodside, the spectacular Melbourne tall ship was recently relaunched by The Hon. Louise Asher, Minister for Tourism & Major Events, after a four year redevelopment of the site. Polly Woodside features an impressive new interpretation and family-friendly programs that greatly enhance the iconic value that this fabulous attraction offers to Melbournians and visitors alike, young and old.
After an incredible third consecutive win in the 2010 Victorian Tourism Awards for Heritage & Cultural Tourism, Old Melbourne Gaol was inducted into the Hall of Fame cementing the Crime & Justice Experience as a 'must see' in Melbourne. Next month in Perth we will be representing Victoria, contesting the National Hall of Fame Award.
'We are excited by today's launch of the National Trust's City Circle tram featuring the Polly Woodside experience & the Old Melbourne Gaol. I encourage everyone to bring your families onboard and catch the free Melbourne City Circle Tram to both of these interactive, unique and hands-on attractions, says National Trust CEO Mr. Martin Purslow.
'In partnership with Yarra Trams, we are pleased to show our confidence in Melbourne's growing tourism industry. After a great summer, where the City was bustling with visitors for our world class events, we are proud to launch our tram for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.
