Bombay Rock |

ONE of the best-known names in the Melbourne live music scene, Bombay Rock, closed in December 2019.
An announcement on the Sydney Rd club's Facebook page broke the news.
"Bombay Rock has closed its doors effective immediately. We would like to thank all the awesome bands and patrons who partied along with us over the past year.''
The venue was still hosting gigs as recently as last Saturday and the sudden closure shocked many fans.
Managers Asher Trainor and Kacey Knoodle reopened the latest Bombay Rock in Brunswick last year.
The original club in Bourke St burnt down in 1991 and was later renamed the Beach Nightclub. The first Bombay Rock opened in 1977 and hosted major acts including The Knack, INXS, Nick Cave and Cold Chisel.
