Bollygum Park

Bollygum Park

WHERE THE STORY COMES TO LIFE!
AN ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND IN KINGLAKE, VICTORIA

A magical playground located at 40 Whittlesea - Kinglake Road, Kinglake, Victoria, Bollygum Park is based around the award winning children's book 'Bollygum' by Garry Fleming.

You will be enchanted as you wander along the shady paths of this 2.5 acre wonderland, from Bower Birds Nest with its sparkling blues treasures, across the bridge over the "creek" and pay a visit to platypus, whose house sits on the bank of the dry creek bed.

Continue down the path, bordered by native plantings, Indigenous message sticks, colourful storyboards and flora information panels to Wombats house with its artistically carved story wall, slides, mirrors and wombats hiding spot. You can enjoy Wombats favourite fishing spot by the large sandpit and he has even left a few fishing poles out for you.

Frogmouths House

Frogmouths House is the main play structure of the park and has senior and junior sections so no one is left out. Among its many features are a climbing wall, monkey bars, rope bridges, flying fox, wave slide, bird nest swings, dual metal slide for racing (under cover) and many noisy musical elements and a talk and listen tubes.

Skate Park

For those older members of the family there is a architecturally designed skate park adjoining the playground with a bowl that opens into a street area with small euro, ledges, stairs, banks and quarter.

Also among the many features of the park are public toilets, electric BBQ, lots of shaded seating, picnic tables, disabled access and ample parking.

Suzanne Hyde

Bollygum Park is lovingly dedicated to Suzanne Hyde one of the founding members of The Bollygum Park Reserve Committee of Management. Sadly Suzanne, along with her husband Geoff perished in the 2009 Black Saturday Bushfires. Without Suzanne none of this would have been possible, her memory will live on forever in every smiling face that passes through the gates of Bollygum.

Market

The Bollygum Market is held on the second Sunday of each month (except during winter).
