On June 10, Victorian families are invited to State Library Victoria for a free, hands-on event to celebrate the International Day of Play.

A Day of Play: Shaping Their Start in Victoria runs from 10am to 2.30pm on 10 June. Qualified early childhood educators will lead interactive play experiences at one of Melbourne's most iconic cultural spaces.

The event celebrates Victoria's Free Kinder program, which gives children access to two years of Free Kinder. At kinder, children learn through play and enjoy the benefits of early childhood education.

On the day activities will see families discover how play helps shape the start of a child's life, building important skills like communication, creativity, confidence, problem-solving, coordination and social connection.

Drop in for five minutes or stay for the day. This free, all-day experience has been designed so that families can turn up and play.
