Moomba Festival 2014

Moomba Festival 2014

Every Labour Day long weekend in March, Moomba Festival brings Melburnians together to share in the vibrancy and spirit of our much loved city.

Love Melbourne, Love Moomba!
Iconic festival back for another fun-packed weekend of FREE entertainment.

A celebrated part of the Melbourne events calendar for almost 60 years, Moomba will be back in 2014 with an exciting program of free events, making Melbourne the ideal place to be for the Labour Day long weekend.

Held over four days, the festival attracted more than one million visitors to the sun-soaked banks of the Yarra last year. This year’s festival promises to be even bigger with an outstanding free music program book-ended by spectacular opening and closing night concerts.

It was my first Mooomba, since it has been moved to St Kilda Road. I strongly believe Channel 7 could do more coverage on this very important event... It only comes around once a year... Thank you!!!!!!

We attend with children and arrive early to get a good spot and wait patiently. My daughter is also in the parade so its important to us to have a good view and take photos only to have the last minute arrivals push their children forward in front of us. Perhaps respect by all is required.

Didn't like the new route. The parade was too short and not the same atmosphere as in the city. Great to hear that numbers were up but I doubt that was because of the new route! I agree with other contributor about getting a good spot. And no nearby restaurants on St Kilda Rd like there on Swanston St. Come on Melbourne we can do better..
