* Yogathon For Freedom 2017 *
Art to Healing & The Hero's Journey Collective presents: YOGATHON FOR FREEDOM: MELBOURNE 8 hours of non-stop yoga. 8 diverse styles. 8 awesome yoga teachers. 1 day of uniting to end CHILD SEX SLAVERY. We're bridging the divide between the multimillion dollar Western yoga industry and the injustice in the East: yoga's birthplace. We're about creating positive and sustainable social change that radically empowers those in need. And we want you to join us! If you're a yogi that's ready to change lives, rise up with the Melbourne yoga community on September 23rd and say NO to the billion-dollar sex slave trade happening right now throughout Asia. In 2016 Yoga for Freedom raised over $11,000 for rural communities devastated by the 8.1 magnitude earthquake in Nepal. This year we're hoping to raise even more for the woman and girls whose lives have been destroyed by the sex slave trade. This year our theme is moksha, or liberation. 2017's Melbourne Yogathon event will happen on 23rd of September 2017 with 100% of the funds raised going directly to the therapeutic programs delivered on the ground to women and children who have endured sex slavery through Art to Healing and their grassroots partners.This year, we're supporting the Cultural Yoga Project in Melbourne for therapeutic yoga programs for asylum seekers and refugees. The ultimate challenge is to join us for 8 hours of yoga + fundraise for freedom. You can also participate in a half day, 2 hours an hour, or as many hours as you like! Your support in standing up for freedom will change lives.
