We are all Boat People

We are all Boat People

The 'We are All Boat People' campaign is concerned in the broadest sense with the mental health of Australia. In our analysis, what we are facing is not so much a refugee problem as a crisis of xenophobia, a terrible and contagious national sickness. The border panic policies of our government are clearly designed to spread fear and hatred, disseminated through brilliant manipulation of the unspeakable psychoses of an occupying nation secretly uncertain of its own legitimacy.

Many Australians are appalled by the actions and policies of our government relating to refugees seeking asylum here.

We are ordinary Australians who have decided to get involved and challenge the border panic encouraged by the current rhetoric of fear.

Our goal is to help to create a change in the Government's policies and legislation. The Boat People image is our way of providing a simple, clear and powerful message that expresses the feelings and concerns of many Australians.

We want you to help us spread the Boat People image far and wide, as a way to remind the government and people everywhere that all (non-indigenous) Australians are in fact 'Boat People'.
