Venice On The Yarra | Gondola Cruise
Venice On The Yarra offers gondola cruises on the Yarra River.
Stroll down to the departure pontoon for your scheduled cruise and one of our experienced gondoliers will be there to greet and help you into the boat. Based on Venetian boat plans and built in Melbourne, our gondolas are a luxurious way to cruise the river. Each Gondola takes up to four passengers and is opulently appointed with upholstered velvet seats, plush cushions, warm rugs and a fold over canopy to keep customers warm and dry if the weather is cool. A cosy romantic ambience is created with soft music and gentle lighting.
When you step into the boat a bottle of quality champagne will be ready on ice. You can now just relax back with a glass of champagne and take in the sights and sounds of Melbourne's Yarra river.
Your gondolier will row the boat for you from a separate section at the rear of the boat. Moving at about 2 knots your cruise will travel through the city section of Melbourne's Yarra river. You'll glide past all the main attractions - the Exhibition Centre, Aquarium, Southbank and Crown Casino, Flinders Street Station, Federation Square and the tranquil Alexandra Gardens.
The cruises depart and disembark from the Crown Casino floating landing or from the pontoons at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and Southgate (the departure point will be confirmed when you make your booking). At the completion of your cruise you'll be taken back to the pontoon and our gondolier will help you disembark. You'll be in the heart of the Crown/Southbank precinct with plenty of entertainment options to continue your evening if you so wish.

How many people does the boat fit?
Each gondola seats up to four people and you will have exclusive use during your cruise booking.
What if the weather is bad?
The protective canopy of the gondola allows us to still provide a cruise if there is a light shower, however in the event of strong winds or heavy rain we may need to reschedule cruises and will contact you earlier on the day of your booking to discuss this.
How far in advance do I need to book?
The gondola cruises operate throughout the year, by appointment, 7 days a week. During the summer months, and particularly on weekends, we are often fully booked so to avoid disappointment we suggest you book at least 2 weeks in advance. A minimum of 8 hours notice is needed for all bookings.
Can I bring my own food and alcohol on the boat?
Our food and alcohol licences do not permit BYO food or alcohol. Finger food, dessert platters and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available through our caterers and can be ordered through our booking office on 9399 1991. Prices on application.
Can children go on the cruise?
Children over the age of 13 are welcome on the boat cruises if accompanied by an adult.
