The Boite

The Boite

The BoiteThe Boîte is Victoria's iconic multicultural music organisation.

Celebrating cultural diversity since 1979 through a prolific program of festivals, events, radio programs, music releases and publications.

The Boite have presented and promoted hundreds of talented musicians, artists, dancers, writers and storytellers who call Australia home.

From intimate acoustic spaces at the Boite World Music Cafe to Hamer Hall at the Arts Centre Melbourne with audiences of over 2000, The Boite actively encourage people from all backgrounds to get involved as audiences and as active participants in choirs and workshops.

Many of the artists we work with are from refugee and migrant backgrounds. The Boite offer support and advice to practice their artform. We are dedicated to building bridges between cultures and look for opportunities to make creative spaces available to people from various communities.

The Boite's major projects include the Boite Millennium Chorus; a 350 voice choir made up of singers from across Victoria. The Boite Schools Chorus; involving hundreds of students from across Victoria in a series of concerts in Melbourne, Bairnsdale, Ballarat & Albury. The World Music Cafe; intimate acoustic concerts held in Nth Fitzroy, Box Hill & Eltham and the Boite Singers' Festival; a weekend of concerts and workshops held in Daylesford, Victoria.
