St Kilda Cemetery Tours

The Friends of St Kilda Cemetery run regular tours of St Kilda Cemetery.

Tours of St Kilda Cemetery leave from the main entrance gates on Dandenong Road, St Kilda East (Melways Map 58 - F9).

Bookings: Places are limited and pre-booking is essential by contacting 9531 6832, or use the online booking links attached to each tour.

Tours usually run for about 90 minutes.

Tours are offered in all weathers, so please dress appropriately for the conditions. There is little shelter or shade within the cemetery. Tours proceed at a leisurely pace, and keep to the safest paths, but those who may have difficulty walking on uneven ground should use their discretion.

Special tours:

Special tours may be arranged, on request, for schools, clubs, organisations and individuals. Contact the Secretary for further information.

St Kilda Cemetery is located seven kilometres south-east of central Melbourne.

The cemetery is located at the corner of Dandenong Road and Hotham Street in St Kilda East. Entrance to the cemetery is from Dandenong Road.

Opening hours

The cemetery is open from 9.00 AM to 4.30 PM seven days a week.


Parking is available within the cemetery during weekdays. Parking is also available on Dandenong Road but be careful to pay attention to clearway and other parking restrictions.Parking is also available on Alexandra Street which runs along the eastern side of the cemetery.

Public Transport

Tram numbers 5 (Malvern) and 64 (East Brighton) run from the City and pass the cemetery gates on Dandenong Road. Alight at the corner of Dandenong Road and Williams Road (Stop No 35). The journey from the city takes approximately twenty-five minutes.
