The Shrine of Remembrance is open daily.

Built to honour the men and women who served in the First World War, this great monument recognises a century of service by Victorians and Australians in all conflicts from the 1850s to the present day.

Galleries of Remembrance: free admission, open daily except Good Friday and Christmas Day, 10am - 5pm (last admission 4.30pm)

Remembrance Ceremonies: free admission, daily every half an hour from 10.30am (includes a simulation of the Ray of Light).

If you would like to recharge after your Shrine Tour you can add on a transportable tiffin from Jardin Tan containing a selection of gourmet treats. Produced exclusively for Shrine Tour participants, your tiffin can be enjoyed inside restaurant located close to the Shrine, or picnic style within the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens.

Your journey begins by delving into history with a Shrine Tour. Uncover the captivating narrative that draws together a compelling chronicle of this unique monument's historical and cultural significance.

After your tour take the time to recharge with an exclusive tasty tiffin catered by Jardin Tan. With a Tour and a Tiffin experience your selection of gourmet treats are specially encased in a stainless-steel tiffin, making it your decision on whether you eat in at the renowned Jardin Tan restaurant or picnic-style within the historical Royal Botanic Gardens. Your tiffin inclusions are substantial enough to be enjoyed as a lunch or afternoon tea. Tiffins are collected from and returned to Jardin Tan.

Tour & a Tiffin options are available daily, with 24 hours notice. Tour start times: 11am & 12.45pm

Getting There

The Shrine can be reached from the City and Flinders Street Railway Station via St Kilda Road. On leaving Flinders St Railway Station through the Swanston St exit the shrine is to the south. It is a very pleasant 1.3km walk taking about 30 minutes.

Take any southbound tram from Federation Square (except route number 1) to stop 19
Bus route 605 from Gardenvale to Flagstaff stations via the CBD. Alight at Birdwood Avenue stop
Car parking on St Kilda Road and Birdwood Avenue (ticketing applies).
Coach and disabled parking bays are also available on Birdwood Avenue.
