Scugnizzo |

Scugnizzo represents Carannante's nostalgic return to his roots, so the appetisers, snacks and a la carte offerings have a ring of authenticity.
You may feel like returning too after trying dishes like homemade pasta's or the Italian cheese plate.
Sequestered in one of Melbourne's famous laneways, Scugnizzo is snugly ensconced on the west end of Little Bourke Street. Entering the red-brick exteriors, you find yourself in a decidedly European enclave, a narrow, moody room lit by the glow of pie-shaped hanging lights.
In both the main dining space and the separate lounge area you see the Italian posters and images that refer to the owner/chef Carmine Carannante's (formerly of Caffe e Cucina) upbringing in southern Italy.
