Join our fight to preserve the integrity and amenity of our Shrine!
Since its construction in 1928, the Shrine of Remembrance has been protected as a cultural landmark of Melbourne and Victoria. Strict planning controls have been adhered to for generations, ensuring the Shrine was protected from overshadowing.
And yet more recently, the respect and restraint of past generations has been undermined.
Approvals have been granted or are pending which - literally - cast a shadow over Melbourne's most significant cultural icon.
Despite the Planning Minister publicly stating in April 2014 that he would protect the Shrine from overshadowing for future generations, the opposite is occurring!
We say 'ENOUGH'.
