The Rotary Club of Oakleigh Clayton Huntingdale operates the Oakleigh Rotary Sunday Market which started more than 30 years ago and has evolved into a thriving and well-loved local event that brings the community together every Sunday morning. (There is no market on Christmas Day or Anzac Day)
The Market operates at the corner of Atherton Rd and Hanover St (Mel 69 G8) between the hours of 8am to 1pm. It is a well-known Trash and Treasure Market with Food Option Fresh Flowers Plants and Specialty stalls.
There are between 140 and 170 spaces available for both permanent and casual stall-holders. New stall-holders are always welcome and a weekly Vendor Ticketing System is used to secure your spot.
Visitors can find a range of preloved goods vintage items books records gardening equipment and tools as well as a variety of produce including fruit vegetables and fresh flowers.
People look forward to the market to shop have a coffee and a chat. The stall holders love the ambience and the local traders agree that the market brings more people to the area for shopping and services.
And everyone associated with the market is proud of its ability to give back - with more than $1.5 million being returned to the community over its life.
