Kevin Robert Elz
Robert Elz should be remembered as the man who connected Australia to the Internet.
'How cool to be known as the father of Australian Internet',, good on ya Rob!
Kevin Robert Elz was a computer programmer at the University of Melbourne, and together with Bob Kummerfeld and Piers Lauder at the University of Sydney ran the Australian Computer Science network (ACSnet).

He also managed the aus.* Usenet hierarchy from its inception in the 1980s until the mid-1990s.
Having previously lived and worked in Melbourne for many years, he currently lives in Hat Yai, Songkhla, Thailand, where he is an honorary lecturer in the Computer Engineering Department of the Prince of Songkla University.
