Patee Thai Restaurant |
Eating out Thai style has never been so much fun! Whether you dine at Patee Thai for a birthday, anniversary or get together with family and friends, diners are treated to a feast of authentic Thai cuisine made from the freshest ingredients.
The restaurant has two levels, with the first floor catering to those who don't mind sitting on traditional Thai floor cushions set against warm lighting and subdued ambience. For those who prefer the good old table and chairs, the ground level if for you. And group bookings are also covered whatever your size.
At Patee Thai, the focus is eating a Thai meal with family and friends, for Thai's seldom eat alone. The dishes are served simultaneously, placed in the centre of the table, allowing the diners to range across the entire spectrum of flavours.
Choose from an extensive a la carte menu or a range of banquets to satisfy your roaring appetite. It is definitely worth noting that the chef does not use MSG in his cooking and also provides a choice of mild, medium and hot dishes to suit your tastebuds. And vegetarians are generously accommodated too.
Since celebrating 25 years of friendly service and tasty dishes, the Patee Thai staff are far from letting their popularity get to their heads. Even after returning to this restaurant over a handful of times, the level of attentiveness, friendliness and great service is never forgotten. Staff are obliging to meet your needs, whether it is altering a dish for someone with food allergies or suggesting what will soon become your favourite dish.
Speaking of favourite dish, here are my favourites..
It is mandatory to order the entree serve of chicken satay skewers ($7). The chicken is made from the perfect balance of curry powder, coconut milk, honey, satay sauce and peanuts and is so far the best satay skewers I have devoured.
For main, you can't go past the succulent stewed duck leg ($14.90) marinated in dark soy sauce and five spices and served with a side of greens, carrots and potato.
Meat lovers will devour the beef with oyster sauce dish ($14.90). Made from tender beef slices, a marinade of garlic and oyster sauce and a side serve of vegetables complete this melt-in-the-mouth experience. This is a dish that will definitely not leave you hungry.
One of the staple dishes when visiting Thailand seems to be the traditional Thai beef salad. Patee Thai strikes the jackpot with their take on this authentic Thai dish. Patee Thai's Thai beef salad ($14.90) is made with a perfect mix of tender grilled beef, onions, quartered tomatoes and cucumbers, and seasoned with lemon juice and chili.
The Pad Thai Noodles ($13.90/$12.90 vegetarian) is as authentic as they serve in Thailand if not on par. Rice noodles, prawns, bean shoots, chives, tofu, egg and minced peanuts make up this delicious dish.
If ordering a non-noodle dish, a serving or coconut rice ($2.80) will make your Thai food experience complete. With six of my favourite dishes revealed, it is guaranteed that Patee Thai will satisfy your tantalizing tastebuds.
