Opposite the Fitzroy Town Hall sits this ever-popular pub where a mish mash of old furniture keeps patrons comfy.
The small front bar is a good one for striking a 'one arm on the bar, the other clutching a pot' pose, and the adjacent pool room caters for those wanting a more comfortable seating arrangement with tables. Actually, maybe not so comfortable depending on where you are in there - the cluttered layout makes real the possibility of being nudged in the back by a pool cue. Larger tables and more chairs adorn the dining areas, and there is also seating outdoors, along the side.
Service can be slow during quiet times, but the Napier boasts great food, drink and atmosphere. Popular with both locals and outta towners guarantee that you won't be drinking alone.
The beer garden is quaint and narrow, in keeping with the Fitzroyness of the Napier itself.
