Monk & Me, a Malaysian bistro, was named after one of the jazz heroes of Simon Goh, formerly renowned of the restaurant Chinta Ria.
Tucked away in small lane where only pixies can find, it's amazing how Monk & Me is always buzzing with people who are rushing to catch the films or parents who just remembered they left their 3 year old child home alone with their pet tiger off the leash.
As a sister restaurant to Chinta Ria, you can expect to find Simon Goh's footprints all over the place. From jazz themed music to the Zen decor to the laksa dishes, Simon Goh has made his trademark in yet another restaurant.
The name Monk & Me is also another of Simon's inventions. It is based on the theme of a person's spiritual journey from a caterpillar to a butterfly, metaphorically speaking. From something or someone in innocence and obscurity becoming something alluring yet peaceful and attaining that spiritual state of the deities. Monk & Me in actual fact is not that difficult to find. Come in to experience your Nirvana.
