Minhwa is a traditional form of Korean folk art that flourished during the late Joseon Dynasty. Widely embraced by the common people, the term literally means "paintings of the people," reflecting their everyday lives, wishes, and beliefs.

Traditionally displayed in homes to invite blessings and ward off misfortune, Minhwa is rich with symbolic motifs: peonies for prosperity, lotus flowers and ducks for vitality and harmony, and countless images conveying hopes and aspirations. Its expressive, playful style captures honesty, humor, and heartfelt desires.

This exhibition explores Minhwa's cultural significance while presenting contemporary reinterpretations. Visitors are invited to experience the charm, symbolism, and enduring beauty of Minhwa, bridging tradition and modernity.
A celebration of heritage, creativity, and personal reflection, the show offers a moment to connect with cultural stories and timeless aspirations.
