Experience the brilliance of Mina Yu a pianist and composer whose performances captivate with elegance sensitivity and lyrical beauty.

Based in Melbourne after seven years in NYC Mina has built a reputation as a top-tier pianist and educator. Over the last three years she has appeared on a number of projects including albums by ZEDSIX The Shape of Jazz (Bell Award winner) and Richard Pavlidis' Without Within (reviewed by The Australian) as well as performances with Fem Belling Women of Soul Uncomfortable Science (featuring Laneous) Nardia Brancatisano and Morgana.

In addition to her work as a pianist Mina is an accomplished composer and arranger. Since establishing herself in Melbourne she has performed at the Melbourne Recital Centre Hamer Hall the Melbourne International Jazz Festival the Melbourne International Women's Jazz Festival St Paul's Cathedral Parliament House NGV The Arts Centre ACMI 170 Russell the Jazzlab the Paris Cat Jazz Club and Melbourne University. She also served as the musical director/pianist for the Melbourne concert of renowned K-pop star Tae Woo Kim (G.O.D).

While based in the USA Mina performed as a pianist accompanist and music director in a number of New York City's most prestigious concert venues including Carnegie Hall Columbia University and New York Live Arts. She also undertook international tours of South Korea Australia England and Switzerland.

Mina currently teaches piano at Melbourne University and Monash College and has worked as an artist-in-residence at the Berklee College of Music - Inspired program. She works as an assessor for the AMEB (Australian Music Examination Board). Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music and a Master of Jazz Performance from Manhattan School of Music. While at Manhattan School of Music she was the recipient of numerous awards including the CJ Culture Scholarship and the MSM Scholarship.
