Melbourne Ice are the first team in Australian Ice Hockey League history to win three championships in a row. On Sunday 2 September Melbourne Ice defeated Newcastle North Stars 4:3 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium, Newcastle. During season 2012 Melbourne Ice were followed by an access all areas documentary crew filimg The Road to 3Peat, an amazing insight into the life of an Australian ice hockey player. www.ice3peat.com Established in 2002, and playing out of the Oakleigh Rink, Melbourne Ice, now call the state of the art O'Brien Group Arena home. With two Olympic size ice rinks and world class facilities Medibank Icehouse is the ideal place to immerse yourself in this fast, action packed sport. The team is made up of elite amateur players and seasoned imports, playing at international professional level. Melbourne Ice is a not-for-profit incorporated association, run by a volunteer management committee. The management group comprises individuals with high-level experience in coaching, sports management, business, marketing, government and the community sector. The team train and play all their home games at O'Brien Group Arena and welcome everyone to come and watch. Look out for the team when you're there having fun on the ice.
